A book exploring nine Korean serif typefaces

Studying Korean serif typefaces through making

My time at SNU was about building the basics: typography, grid, and layout. 명*9 (serif*9) is a type specimen book on nine Korean serif typefaces. It combines analysis of their letterforms with examples of how they can be used in different sizes, weights, and settings. This project gave me a solid foundation that still shapes how I design today.

From class to small circulation

I first printed 15 copies for professors and classmates. After strong feedback, I produced another 50 copies, which were shared across the design department. Beyond learning about type, the project showed me how making something tangible can spark conversation and inspire others.
